Family Therapy

Debbie Radzinsky, LCSW Psychotherapist in Austin Texas and New York: Family Embracing

Healing Happens at Home.

Families often experience tension during periods of change, stress, or grief.

Family therapy helps uncover the patterns that shape family dynamics and supports healthier ways of communicating and relating to one another.

Areas of Focus

Families often come to therapy during times of change, stress, or emotional complexity. Even when family members care deeply about one another, communication challenges and unresolved dynamics can create distance and misunderstanding.

Family therapy may support families navigating grief or trauma, neurodiversity within the family system, separation or divorce, or ongoing communication challenges. In many of these situations, family members want to connect but struggle to express their needs or understand one another’s perspectives.

My role is to help families identify the patterns shaping their interactions and develop healthier ways of communicating and relating. For families experiencing grief, trauma, or neurodiversity, therapy offers space for each member to process their experience while building empathy and understanding within the family system.

For parents who are separated or divorced, therapy can also provide co-parenting guidance to improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, and support a cooperative approach to raising children.

Strengthening Family Relationships

Through guided conversation and emotional exploration, families can develop a deeper understanding of one another’s experiences and perspectives.

As communication improves and patterns become clearer, families often begin to experience greater emotional safety and connection. Families who simply want to strengthen their bond can also benefit from learning new ways to communicate that help each member feel heard, respected, and supported.

Family therapy can help create more compassionate, supportive, and connected relationships within the family system.
